Biography
Backtrack Vocals is a five-member a cappella ensemble from New York City. They have extensive touring history across the United States and have completed two Arts Envoy programs through American Voices, one in Vietnam and another in Kazakhstan. They infuse heart and humor into all of their performances, and their versatile repertoire spanning Top 40 hits, Motown, classical, show tunes, original music and more has something for everyone!
Arts education is an important part of Backtrack’s mission, and they have conducted assemblies, workshops, and clinics at over 250 schools worldwide. They also run summer camps, including one in Kazakhstan for 55 of the country’s top music students. Through their programming, they strive to help students discover and nurture their unique voices, cultivate an atmosphere of inclusivity, and learn about a cappella music in a fun, engaging, and interactive setting.
Starting on YouTube in 2013, Backtrack has gained over 110,000 subscribers and 12 million views on their channel. They have appeared on NBC, FOX, PBS, Steve Harvey's daytime show "STEVE!", Broadway's "Kinky Boots," and HBO's "PAUSE with Sam Jay." They also won New York's Got Talent Season 6 in 2019 and made their movie debut in “A Ring for Christmas” in December 2020. In August 2022, Backtrack made their international festival debut at Bridgefest in Da Nang, Vietnam. Their global outreach continued with an appearance on the national Kazakh morning show "ОЯН!" in June 2023.
