Meet the Band
Marielle Kraft
When you hear Marielle Kraft’s music or experience her candid live shows, you feel as though you already know her. Her gift for storytelling and engaging candor on stage have fueled the ever-growing crowds at each of her shows. The indie pop singer/songwriter, now based in Nashville, displays craftsmanship beyond her years, following suit to artists like Maisie Peters, Kelsea Ballerini, and Taylor Swift.
The former middle school English educator and Rhode Island native began playing guitar at 16 and soon writing songs full of salient detail, raw emotion, and poignant word choice to describe moments “exactly as they feel.” Kraft studied abroad twice during her time studying at University of Delaware, teaching at an international school in Barcelona, Spain in 2015, and leading Arts Integration workshops in many school communities across South Africa in 2017. These opportunities fostered Marielle’s passion for both music and education, and cultivating relationships where the two worlds meet.
In spring 2018, she was crowned Grand Champion of the Mid-Atlantic Singer-Songwriter Competition, and the following June she delivered a Tedx Talk at Firefly 2018, discussing the importance of honesty rooted in her songwriting process.
During her spare time, Marielle Kraft enjoys tutoring students of all ages, shooting film photography, playing pickle ball, and crafting oat milk lattes.
Corey Dill
Corey Dill is a drummer and percussionist with a wide variety of influences, and a matching variety of outlets for musical expression. He currently plays with pop singer Marielle Kraft, an indie rock group called Brother Moses, a cinematic pop duo named Giveth, and a dream-pop band that goes by the name of Glitterspitter, bringing his unique, precise, and creative groove to all of these different genres.
Corey is also a coffee connoisseur, an outdoor sports savant and exercise enthusiast and, lately, a bit of a book buff. He is happily married, lives in Philadelphia, and has a dog named Weasley.
Sean Gallagher
Sean Gallagher graduated from Temple University with a bachelor’s degree in Music Composition. His strong suits are musical diversity and proficiency, technique, music theory, ear training, improvisation, and composition on a variety of instruments. He currently tours with accomplished songwriter Marielle Kraft, playing guitar, keys, and drums for the group, as well as playing drums and bass with several other bands.
For the past 3 years he has taught music lessons to students for Leading Tone Lessons, a private company based out of King of Prussia. During the summers between college semesters, he played bass with a Motown/funk group at Hershey Park called the Soda Pops, consisting of high energy cover music and choreography. In high school Sean won many soloist and rhythm section awards for his work on jazz guitar, and was a section leader for his high school choir. Sean was a worship leader at New Hanover United Methodist church for 2 years before studying at Temple.
Kate Yeager
Raised in New York and growing roots in Nashville, pop singer-songwriter Kate Yeager delivers powerful, raw vocals with lyrics that make you question “How does she know my life?” Kate studied at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU’s Tisch School of The Arts. Her music has been commissioned to NBC’s Peacock and she’s played on some of America’s biggest stages, such as Radio City Music Hall. Not only is Kate a songwriter, artist, and musician, but she also works as a music educator specializing in guitar, songwriting, and voice for students ages 5 and beyond. The accomplished multi-instrumentalist and vocalist joined Marielle Kraft’s backing band in 2023.
Sam Capolongo
Sam Capolongo was born in Seoul, South Korea and adopted by his parents three months later. He grew up in Montgomery, NJ and went on to graduate from the University of Delaware with a Chemistry degree. Immediately following college, Sam began performing music full time, playing cover gigs at bars, restaurants, and private events. Starting in 2017, he owned a portion of boutique music booking agency M&B Booking, later selling his equity in 2019. Sam joined Marielle Kraft’s backing band as her lead guitarist in 2018, and has been performing with her ever since. In 2019, he founded Chasing Straights, a Philadelphia-based rock band for which he writes the music and fronts.
