The AMA Academy Colombia 2023 will unite a diverse group of up to 25 young performing artists from the Latin American region, crossing socio-economic borders, promoting social inclusion, and bringing musical cultures together. The international cohort of artists will be connected by their affiliation with prior U.S. Embassy PAS- or AMA-sponsored activities in their nominating countries and their nominating Embassy’s demonstrated active engagement with AMA programming. Participants will represent a range of vocalists, songwriters, instrumentalists, and jazz/pop/hip hop performers coming from a variety of genres. They will participate in intensive creative and musical workshops with AMA Alumni artist instructors and receive mentoring in the music business, production, and innovation/entrepreneurial skills. The AMA Academy Colombia will be take place at the Centro Cultural Colombo Americano in Cali, Colombia from May 3-13, 2023.
Celebrating the diverse backgrounds and talents of the participants and instructors, the remarkable bridge transcending cross-cultural boundaries of the Academy, the power of collaboration, and the creative depth of music, the AMA Colombia 2023 workshop will adopt the subtheme of “No Limitations”.
